Tahiti Coffee Growing: A Micro-Scale Heritage Tahiti does not have commercial coffee growing "regions." Instead, it features small, scattered plantings of coffee trees, primarily in private home gardens and family plots across the island, from coastal valleys to mid-elevation slopes. The coffee is almost exclusively the Arabica Moka variety (a small-beaned mutation of Typica), historically introduced and preserved as a curiosity. It is grown non-commercially, with beans processed naturally and roasted at home for personal consumption, local gifting, or occasional sale at tiny roadside stands.
