MOROGORO :- The Morogoro region, located in eastern Tanzania at the base of the Uluguru Mountains, is one of the country’s lesser-known but important Arabica and Robusta coffee-producing areas. Farms are typically found at elevations between 600 and 1,600 meters above sea level, where the humid tropical climate, ample rainfall, and fertile volcanic soils support high-quality coffee cultivation. Arabica coffee is mainly grown in the higher mountain zones, while Robusta thrives in lower elevations. Most coffee is produced by smallholder farmers, who interplant coffee with food and fruit crops to maintain soil fertility and biodiversity. Morogoro coffees are appreciated for their mild, smooth cup profile, featuring balanced acidity, medium body, and sweet, nutty or cocoa notes with subtle fruit tones. The harvest season generally runs from June to November. Though not as widely recognized as Kilimanjaro or Mbeya coffees, Morogoro’s production contributes significantly to Tanzania’s domestic supply and offers growing potential for specialty-grade coffees
