SEBEI (EASTERN UGANDA, BORDERING KENYA)
Sebie, a highland area on the slopes of Mount Elgon produces high quality Arabica coffee. Sebie is cantered around districts, Kapchorwa, Kween and Bulambuli. The region has around 10,000 smallholder coffee farms (mostly family run) collectively covering about 5,000 hectares of land. Arabica from Sebie have fruity and wine-like flavours. The popular coffee producers are such as Sipi falls coffee cooperative and Kapchorwa coffee farmers’ cooperative.
