ESPÍRITO SANTO
Espírito Santo is Located along Brazil’s south-eastern coast, bordering Minas Gerais and Bahia. The highlands of the Montanhas do Espírito Santo contrast with the coastal Conilon Capixaba zone. It has humid tropical climate with 1,000–1,500 mm rainfall annually and temperatures averaging 20–25°C. Highlands experience cooler temperatures, suitable for Arabica, while lowlands favour Robusta.
Espírito Santo ranks as Brazil’s second-largest coffee producer, employing thousands of smallholder farmers and forming the backbone of the state’s agricultural economy. The region Produces both Arabica (in the mountains) and Robusta/Conilon (in the lowlands). Robusta dominates with high yields and mechanized production, while Arabica represents a growing specialty sector.
Annual output averages 13–15 million 60-kg bags, roughly 35% Robusta and 65% Arabica, generating over US$2 billion in value.
