NORTE DE SANTANDER 

      Norte De Santander is Located further north along the Venezuelan border, features diverse topography and a combination of tropical and Andean climates. Coffee here is produced mainly in municipalities such as Pamplona, Cúcuta, and Cácota, often at mid-altitudes. These coffees are gentle and sweet, with chocolatey and nutty notes, suitable for balanced espresso blends and mild filter roasts. Although production volumes are smaller than in Santander or Huila, the region’s potential for quality improvement and specialty development has attracted renewed interest.

     In recent years, both Santander and Norte de Santander have seen efforts to rejuvenate aging coffee trees, introduce disease-resistant varieties, and promote traceable, differentiated coffees. Local cooperatives and support from the Federación Nacional de Cafeteros (FNC) have encouraged farmers to focus on quality consistency and sustainable practices.
