Valle Grande Coffee: Smooth Tradition from Cochabamba
Valle Grande coffee is cultivated in Bolivia’s Cochabamba Department, one of the country’s historic coffee regions. Grown at altitudes between 800 and 2,300 meters, the Arabica beans mature slowly, developing a refined complexity. The cup profile is mild and smooth, with balanced acidity, sweet undertones of caramel and chocolate, and occasional hints of red fruits like apple or grape.
In the 19th century, Valle Grande was among Bolivia’s most recognized coffee districts, with beans exported to Europe and compared favorably to Yemen’s famed Mocha. Today, smallholder farmers continue this legacy, blending tradition with sustainable practices to preserve the region’s distinctive character.
Valle Grande coffee embodies Bolivia’s heritage — a gentle, elegant brew shaped by altitude, history, and dedication.
